Orlando Airport to Disney Bus Service

Updated: 03 Oct 2012 : 02:45AM

Lynx, Orlando's public transportation system is preparing to cut a bus route serving Walt Disney World that is used by some of the giant resort's employees and visitors.

This is a result of Disney's declining to continue funding the route itself.

Buses currently run every half hour on the route, which is known as Link 111 and extends from Orlando International Airport to Disney World.

It includes stops at Florida Mall and International Drive, as well as several on Disney's vast property.

Under Lynx's new plan, buses would run only every hour and would run only from the airport to SeaWorld Orlando, with a stop at Florida Mall.

Approximately 564,000 riders used Link 111 last year - with about 113,000 of them, or 20 percent, riding the leg between I-Drive and Disney World.

Still, riders who use the Disney leg of the route say it is a valuable service.

Joshua Humphrey, a 27-year-old Orlando blogger who regularly rides the 111 bus to Disney's theme parks, said it is popular with international tourists who stay in I-Drive area hotels and either can't or don't want to rent cars when they visit Disney.

"Today, it was standing room only," said Humphrey, author of the easyWDW blog.
The changes aren't yet set in stone.

You can still find affordable taxi service to Disney with Orlando Sanford Taxi!

If you're staying on International drive hop on the I ride trolley to get around.
